About Me

Hello, my name is Dianne and I would like to welcome you to my blog.

I have worked as a freelance journalist and travel writer for twenty-five years.  My work has taken me all over the world from a frozen Icelandic winter to the heat of a Saharan summer; from rural locations in China, Australia and Eastern Europe to high-flying cities like New York, Shanghai and Singapore.

There are just as many fascinating adventures to be had closer to home.  I live on the edge of  Derbyshire's Peak District where we often experience nature's raw moods, but I'm also relishing the small pleasures you can create each day to make life special, whether it's viewing an incredible work of art, reading an engrossing book, taking a new course or a relaxing yoga class and one of my favourites - eating delicious meals.

As I travel I notice how other cultures enjoy themselves and many of them are better than us at appreciating life's little moments.  I will pass on ideas and you can see what appeals to you!

My motto is 'Never Let An Adventure Pass You By' and I find it a good rule for living whether that adventure is big or small.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope it inspires you.

Dianne
